Sam Fenwick is the Director, Academic & Quality Assurance at Alvis Pathway, where he oversees academic strategy, curriculum development, and quality assurance across international programmes. With over 25 years of experience in educational leadership, English Language Teaching (ELT), and teacher training, Sam brings a depth of expertise in academic operations and regulatory alignment. He holds an MEd in Educational Leadership and Management from Newcastle University, along with CELTA and DELTA qualifications. His career spans roles as a teacher, programme director, CELTA trainer, and DELTA tutor, with a strong focus on University Foundation programmes in the Middle East.
Sam spent a decade with the British Council, working across Bahrain, Tunisia, the UAE, and Japan in teaching, teacher training, academic quality assurance, and corporate education. He later held senior leadership roles in higher education institutions and training organisations in Oman, Saudi Arabia, and the UK, specialising in curriculum design, institutional partnerships, and compliance frameworks. As a Subject Matter Expert for BAE Systems, he consulted with Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defence to redesign military English language training, QA systems, and curriculum frameworks across four armed forces.
Having lived and worked in over eight countries, Sam speaks English, French, Romanian, and conversational Arabic. He is passionate about designing impactful learning experiences grounded in strong academic systems and continuous improvement. Prior to joining Alvis Pathway, he led partnership development initiatives in the medical technology and higher education sectors, working closely with universities, government agencies, and global employers to enhance research, training, and early-career opportunities. He has delivered partnership strategy, negotiated institutional agreements, and supported cross-cultural programme implementation in both academic and commercial environments. Currently based in Bangkok, Rory is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and has extensive experience operating across Asian markets and supporting international student and graduate engagement.

Ahmad Ali is the Progression Manager at Alvis Pathway, where he oversees student transitions into higher education and supports institutional processes that ensure smooth academic progression. With over 18 years of international business experience and a strong background in global finance, he brings a structured, systems-focused approach to education operations.
For the past four years, Ahmad has worked in the overseas education sector in various capacities, gaining a comprehensive understanding of how educational institutions operate—from academic planning and program delivery to registrar duties, student services, and administrative processes. This hands-on experience has equipped him to support students and partners with clarity and efficiency.
Before entering the education sector, Ahmad spent over 14 years in trade finance, managing complex financial instruments such as Letters of Credit, Trust Receipts, and Guarantees. Summyia Tabassum is the Regional Manager – Recruitment and Admissions (Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bhutan) at Alvis Pathway, where she leads student recruitment and market development across South Asia. She brings extensive experience in international student recruitment, key account management, counselling, and training across major study destinations including the USA, UK, Australia, and New Zealand.
She has successfully expanded market reach and achieved enrolment targets through data-driven recruitment strategies and strong agency partnerships, working closely with over 100 education agents. Summyia has represented partner institutions at international education fairs and delivered agent trainings and student seminars across the region.
Her professional background includes leadership roles at MSM (USA) and Solent University (UK), where she supported regional recruitment strategy, market analysis, and institutional visibility. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Central Women’s University and is a British Council Certified Educational Consultant.
